Emphasizing on the importance of social media, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asked the Bharatiya Janata Party lawmakers to actively involve themselves in the social media activities.
Chairing a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister raised concern over several ministers, who were not using digital platform to reach out to the electorate. The PM appointed Power Minister Piyush Goyal, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State Jitendra Singh to help the BJP lawmakers use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter.
During the meeting the PM has also asked the Ministers to aggressively use digital platforms and highlight govt’s initiatives like LPG coverage, electrification of villages, Mudra scheme and Jan Dhan Yojana. PM Modi has 19.7 million followers on Twitter and over 3 crore likes on his Facebbok page.
