The 1978 batch IAS officer, Kaushik Mukherjee who is s currently serving as Karnataka Chief Secretary has been accorded with the three months extension. Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved his extension by only three months though the Karnataka government had asked for a four month extension. Mukherjee, a 1978 batch IAS officer, was to retire on September 30.
