Five IPS have been promoted to IG rank at the Center while Maninder Pratap Singh has been made new IG, BSF.

The Union Government has awarded promotion to five IPS officers. These are all year 2005 batch IPS officers who have been elevated to the rank of IG (Inspector General) across several state organisations lately.
The names of the police officers promoted include Maninder Pratap Singh, Gujarat cadre, Manoj Kumar Sharma (Maharashtra cadre), Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar (Kerala cadre), Princee Rani (Tripura cadre) and R Gopala Krishna Rao (Tripura cadre).
