5 Bureaucrats from Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh Empanelled for Secretary-Level Roles

Five IAS officers from Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh states have been empanelled for Secretary-Level roles.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the empanelment of 35 senior IAS officers from the 1992, 1993, and 1994 batches for secretary-level positions at the Centre. Among them, two officers each from Punjab and Haryana, along with one from Himachal Pradesh, have been included.

From the Haryana cadre, 1993-batch IAS officers Sukriti Likhi and Neerja Sekhar have been empanelled. Ms. Likhi currently serves as the Chairperson of the National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC), while Ms. Sekhar, formerly a Special Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was appointed as Director General, National Productivity Council in December 2024.

In the Punjab cadre, Rakesh Kumar Verma (1993 batch) and Tejveer Singh (1994 batch) have been empanelled. Additionally, Anuradha Thakur, a 1994-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has also secured a spot on the list.

This empanelment underscores the government’s focus on reinforcing central administration with experienced officers from various states.
