The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved tnew appointment of IAS Samir Kumar Sinha whereas IFoS officer Bharat Lal has been given an extension in his tenure.
Senior IAS Samir Kumar Sinha (AM:94), currently serving as Additional Secretary & Director General (Acquisition) in the Department of Defence, has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Defence.
Simultaneously, the ACC has also approved a one-year extension in the tenure of IFoS officer Bharat Lal (GJ:88) (Retd.) as Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, on a contract basis. The extension is effective beyond 30.06.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, and will be governed by the usual terms and conditions.
