Ex-IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao launches ‘Jagan Never Again’ movement, vows to combat injustice.

Former Andhra Pradesh IPS officer A.B. Venkateswara Rao (1989 batch) has formally stepped into the political arena with a bold declaration: to prevent former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy from reclaiming power. Though he has yet to join any political party, Mr. Rao has launched a grassroots initiative titled “Jagan Never Again”, aimed at shedding light on what he describes as the injustices and misgovernance during Mr. Reddy’s tenure.

As part of this campaign, Mr. Rao visited the family of Kodikathi Sreenu (also known as Jallipalli Srinivas) in the Mummidivaram constituency. Calling Sreenu’s case a “classic example” of Mr. Reddy’s alleged betrayal, Rao accused the former CM of “destroying the life of a Dalit youth who was willing to sacrifice everything for him, with no compassion shown.” He pledged full support to the family and vowed to help revive their fight for justice.

Mr. Rao also promised to engage legal counsel to pursue Sreenu’s case and assist in his rehabilitation, stating that restoring the family’s dignity was only the beginning of a broader mission. He plans to bring together individuals who claim to have been wronged during Mr. Reddy’s governance and channel their voices into a powerful collective movement.

“This is just the beginning,” Rao emphasized, outlining his goal to rally public support from those adversely impacted by the previous administration. Through the “Jagan Never Again” campaign, he intends to mount a unified front to prevent Mr. Reddy’s return to office.

Rao’s political debut signals a potential shift in Andhra Pradesh’s political dynamics, especially as the state braces for high-stakes elections in the coming months.
